POSTERIZE YOUR FINANCIAL NEEDS
October 11th, 2005

NCBA teams continue to increase their budgets each year with expanded schedules including more non-conference home and away games, as well as trips during spring break. In addition they have been upgrading equipment, uniforms, and apparel as the league grows. It is because of teams growing financial needs that the NCBA has researched several fundraising programs and are proud to announce their newest sponsor, Northern Badger Media.

Named an Official Fundraising Program of the NCBA, Northern Badger has been producing various media publications for over 14 years. Joe Waite, the owner of Northern Badger, has worked with club programs like University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on poster fundraising programs over the past several years. Former President of UWEC’s Club team Kyle Buchman had this to say about Northern Badger. “The posters were great keepsakes for each of the guys on the team. Attendance at our games by both community members and students skyrocketed after hanging up the posters with our schedules on them. People around campus recognize us as the guys on the club baseball poster. Businesses wanted to see our team succeed and were willing to pay us $150 to advertise on our poster. Northern Badger's contact with us through the whole process made the project very easy. We just turned in the business cards, approved the proof and had the posters in 2 weeks.”

The fundraising program is simply selling advertising spots to local businesses that will be placed on a team poster. The posters are made in full color on thick glossy paper that will last outside for a season and inside indefinitely. Teams can easily gain over $1000 in sponsorships in less than three hours of soliciting ads. The sponsorships are flexible and teams can set the price for each ad. Northern Badger does not follow a set template which allows them to provide a layout however teams choose as well as anything they want on the poster including their team's logo, picture, schedule, roster, etc.

Teams will be asked to send in artwork for sponsors as it is received in order to streamline the process for everyone involved. NCBA teams starting their season in February and early March will be asked to submit material by January 10th while teams staring in the middle of March will be asked to submit their material by February 10th in order to ensure that all teams are able to receive their posters on time.

President of the NCBA, Sandy Sanderson, is thrilled about this opportunity for the teams. "What a great way to gain exposure for the teams. Wallpapering the town with attractive posters featuring team pictures, rosters, and schedules is sure to help gain exposure for our NCBA teams."

Joe Waite, owner of Northern Badger Media had this to say about the new partnership. "We're really excited about the chance to help club baseball teams publicize themselves and raise money at the same time. We can't think of a better organization and sport to offer our services to."
